Using the speed test
- The test is free for personal, non-commercial use.
- Each test transfers real data. On metered or mobile connections, it counts toward your data allowance, and you are responsible for any charges from your provider.
- Please don’t use automated tools to run tests repeatedly or to load the test servers. The tests run on Cloudflare’s infrastructure, which has its own acceptable-use rules.
- Don’t attempt to interfere with the site, the test, or the server function that provides relay credentials.
Results and guides
Results are measurements of a moment in time and are affected by many factors outside our control; see the methodology and disclaimer. Our guides are general information. They are not professional, legal or contractual advice, and they don’t replace your provider’s terms or support.
Shared results
A shared result link displays numbers encoded in the link. We don’t verify them, and they can be edited by anyone who changes the link. Don’t rely on a shared link as proof of a measurement.
Content
The text, design and code of this site belong to InternetSpeedTest.com unless otherwise stated. The speed test engine is Cloudflare’s open-source software, used under its MIT license. You may link to any page and quote short passages with a link back.
Availability
We aim to keep the site and test available but can’t guarantee it. The test depends on third-party infrastructure and may be unavailable from some networks.
Liability
The site is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, the test results, or decisions made based on them. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed.
